Days 2 and 3 – Starting to look serious…

This past Friday we’ve had the first complete day of classes. Honestly I don’t remember the last time I was so many time in a classroom. Even when in college I doubt I’ve had many days like this one! So this is getting real. In Saturday afternoon, while Red Bull race was dazzling the town, we’ve had to listen all about Commercial Law…

People are starting go get around, knowing each other. The first complains also emerged, mainly about the class size, which everyone seems to find exaggerated. I guess everybody wants to feel special and a bigger class works in the opposite way. But I must say I don’t have any strong feelings on that yet and, for time being, a larger class has not been an issue. Also there were some complains about being too hot in the classroom (in this 3rd day), but I suspect it’s because it was needed to turned off the air conditioned in order to understand the Law teacher a little better ;-)

One of most frequent subjects in small group chats are about the ability of achieving success in exams, works, well… in the MBA Programme. I think everybody is trying to measure each other and what one knows about the other years’ MBA. This is good. Sharing concerns is the first step to build some community or team links. And I am here also for that.

In the end of the second day EGP spoiled us with a small cocktail party. Drinks, “hors d’oeuvre”, a Jazz band and above all some family members. Again Prof. Daniel Bessa warned us, and the families, about how this is going to be tough. I start to believe him…

Yesterday I went to bed at 1 a.m. after sending him a simple exercise. Tomorrow I’ll start to take care of another two, but these ones are not so simple… And don’t forget, Monday it’s a working day that will begin with all the stuff I skipped doing last Friday…

And now, regarding a different subject… I am thinking about sending an email to both Profs. Luís Reis and Daniel Bessa about this weblog. As I stated before, I don’t have any specific “Agenda” on writing it. This is just an experience log strictu sensu, mainly for me, but open to other readers, specially my friends and family. Any way I don’t want to damage in any way the common MBA flow or make something that the School directors would see as harmful. That is way I am mulling about ask them about this weblog, even if I clearly have the freedom of expression to write it.
