Is blogging a waste of time?
Excellent question! Of course I have my views on this for sometime, but why not research a bit? I was astonished by the amount of entries in Google with exactly this expression. So I suppose it is a much disputed matter.
My quick answer is, as you could expect from a Portuguese economist, “it depends!”
But it really does! My view is that wasting time is a crime, so writing a blog only makes sense if you are using it with a purpose. If you write only to tell about all and about nothing, please get a life and then write a blog. But if you have a special goal, blogging could be a very powerful tool.
Firstly in order to write you have to think, or at least you should.
Thinking and writing helps you to organize your ideas, your views. Then you can show the world your views and experience and hopefully people will you answer back, so you can improve even more. Actually you can make a difference blogging and many companies already understood why. I think EGP should have one…
I found some interesting links about this subject that I invite you to read:

In this particular case I intend to use Upato@EGP mainly as a personal log of my MBA experience and some kind of helping tool if possible. But who knows, maybe he’ll “die” soon as most of blogs…

It’s true, blogging can be a waste of time. That’s why I feel it’s important to know what you’re doing, who you’re doing it for and maybe most important of all – why you’re doing it. And a clear idea of where you want to go as a blogger is helpful too.
Strategic plan and follow it, otherwise you’re going to waste a lot of time.
